dnaLIMS is a state-of-the art web based laboratory information management system
used to track and manage core facility workflow in high throughput environments.
Its database and process flow can be customized to your core facility requirements.
dnaLIMS process flow is used to capture DNA sequencing requests, create sample sheets, store and manage sequencing results, distribute the results to the users, create usage reports and accounting summaries. It is designed so all of the input forms, reports, and process flow can be customized to the specific requirements of a DNA sequencing core facility. Requests are entered using a customized sequencing request form that dynamically creates a table sized to the number of reactions being entered. Requests can also be entered using plate based forms or via upload and import of electronic spreadsheets. Plate based and import forms can directly create sample sheets or deposit the requests into a queue. dnaLIMS has a viewer so users can display chromatograms with quality scores (phred and kb-caller) as well as built in interface to automatically run Phred, trim and edit sequences, and create Fasta DB's. dnaLIMS has a series of add on modules to extend the LIMS into other laboratories within the same organization. These modules include: Oligo Ordering, Peptide Synthesis, Protein Sequencing, Mass Spec, and Real Time PCR. All these modules have a consistent look and provide an easy tool for institution-wide tracking and accounting.
